Who We Are
Chosen Home / Acogida is a volunteer effort by a collective of individuals who care deeply about the civil and human rights of asylum seekers, migrants, and immigrants.
What We Believe
We believe that all people visiting or relocating to the United States of America deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We align with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the international standards for the protection of refugees and migrants
Our Purpose
The purpose of this site is to make it easier for people to get or give the help that is so desperately needed by refugees, migrants, and immigrants in the United States at this time.
We curate verified resources from established organizations and present them in a way that is:
- Easy to find in an emergency
- Available in multiple languages
- Safe and private to access
- Clear about what help is available and how to get it
OUR COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY & SAFETY
We understand that accessing immigration resources can put people at risk. That’s why we’ve built this site with the highest privacy and security standards:
No Data Collection
- We do not collect, store, or share any personal information about our visitors
- We do not log IP addresses or location data
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- We cannot identify who visits this site
Privacy-First Infrastructure
- Hosted in the European Union (Netherlands) with strong privacy protections under GDPR
- Domain registration structured to protect site operators
- No third-party analytics or tracking scripts (we use privacy-safe Plausible Analytics that does not collect personal data)
- HTTPS encryption on all pages
- Server logs are minimized and automatically deleted
Verified Resources Only
- Every organization listed is verified as legitimate and actively serving clients
- Resources are reviewed every 90 days to ensure accuracy
- We clearly mark when each resource was last verified
What This Means for You
When you visit this site, no one — not us, not the government, not any third party — can track who you are, where you are, or what you’re looking at. Your safety and privacy are our highest priority.
